Conley Mehlhaff, 81, of Aberdeen will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Our Savior Lutheran Church at Aberdeen. Pastor Jais Tinglund will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pat died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at ManorCare Heath Services of Aberdeen after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen. Pat (Patricia) Conley, daughter of Coyd and Hilda (Iljana) Conley, was born on March 9, 1928, at Houghton, S.D. She lived in Claremont, S.D., for several years before moving with her family to Frederick, S.D. This is where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Frederick High School. After high school she worked for Super Value Wholesalers for nine years before raising her family. Pat was united in marriage to Ray Mehlhaff on Sept. 13, 1954. They made their home in Aberdeen. Pat became employed as a secretary at Lincoln Elementary in 1968, a job which she held and loved for 26 years, retiring in 1994. Pat was an active member at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aberdeen and participated in the Visiting Circle at the church. During her time at Lincoln Elementary, Pat became interested in developmentally disabled children and adults. For many years she served as treasurer for ARC. In her free time, Pat enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her pets. She was an avid reader and her greatest joy was her four grandchildren. Grateful for having shared Pat's life are her children, Cindy Mehlhaff of Aberdeen, Brad (Janan) Mehlhaff, of New Hope, Minn., Paige Mehlhaff, of San Diego, Calif., and Scott (Lisa) Mehlhaff, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one sister, Jeanette Johnson, of Aberdeen; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Kevin, Christopher and Robert Mehlhaff. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant brother; brother, Fenton Conley; sister, Gladys English; and sister, Margie Marvel.
