Barbara Frey ZaunbrecherGUEYDAN - Funeral services will be held honoring the life of Barbara Frey Zaunbrecher, 95, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverends Donald Theriot and Louie Richard officiating the services.Pallbearers will include her grandsons, Wendell Zaunbrecher, Todd Zaunbrecher, Will Leonards, Nicholas Francois, Damian Bollich, Karl Petry, Gary Guidry, William Zaunbrecher and great grandson Tyler Domingue.She is survived by her four sons, Vincent Zaunbrecher and Harry Zaunbrecher of Jones, Wayne Zaunbrecher and Floyd Zaunbrecher of Gueydan; six daughters, Bertha Breaux of Lafayette, Mrs. Elmo (Augusta) Bollich of Jones, Mrs. Reno (Ramona) Petry of Jennings, Mrs. Avert (Carolyn) Guidry of Gueydan, Mrs. William (Bobbi) Leonards of Crowley and Mrs. Allen (Jackie) Francois of Mowata; 41 grandchildren, 93 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Philip Zaunbrecher; two sons, Edmond and Raymond Zaunbrecher; a grandson, Dwayne Zaunbrecher; and a great grandchildren, Jeffery McKoin.Mrs. Zaunbrecher was born Nov. 5, 1908 in Frey and resided in Gueydan for 63 years. She will be remembered as a living devoted mother, great friend and an outstanding one-of-a-kind grandmother.Mrs. Zaunbrecher was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Altar Society of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Gueydan.The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Mrs. Zaunbrecher?s caregivers, Dianne Lougon, Sandra Guidry and Helen Abshire for all their kindness and compassion. Also, a great thanks to Dr. Carl Richard and faculty and staff of American Legion Hospital.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Peter?s Catholic School or a charity of their choice.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home Monday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., and again Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the service.Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan is conducting all funeral arrangements.
