Keylor, Harold B. Keylor

Harold B. ?Cricket? Keylor, 84, Woodsfield, died July 8, 2006, at Wheeling Hospital. He was born June 19, 1922, in Woodsfield, a son of Frederick C. Keylor and Clara E. Drum Keylor.
He retired Major Chief Deputy of Monroe County Sheriff?s Department, having served 35 years; was a member of the United Methodist Church, Woodsfield, where he served as lay speaker; former Woodsfield Chief of Police, Veteran of WWII, served in the 3 C Camp Corps; member of the Oaklawn Cemetery Board, life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge Shrine, Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, a member of the 40 & 8 VOITURI # 363, member of the Masonic Lodge #189, a 60 year member of the American Legion Post #87 of Woodsfield, and a member of Woodsfield Kiwanis Club, having served as secretary for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Florence Miller Keylor of Woodsfield; two sons, Jack (Donna) Keylor of Woodsfield, Harold ?Butch? (Cheryl) Keylor, Jr. of Dyer, Ind.; brother, Hildreth (Hyde) Keylor of Columbiana; sister, Geraldine Piatt of Woodsfield; five grandchildren, Michele Denbow, Mary Ann Whalin, Matthew Keylor, Christopher Keylor and Collin Keylor; eight great grandchildren, Andrew, Casey, Samantha, Nicholas Denbow, Victoria and Jenna Whalin, Gabriel and Eli Keylor; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Lee Latta Harmon; and three brothers, Thomas, Harry and Richard Keylor.
Friends were received July 11 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be held July 12, at 11 a.m., with Rusty Atkinson and Rev. Robert Mitchell officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, with full military graveside services conducted by the Belmont veterans Council, Masonic Lodge services will be conducted on the evening of July 11 at the funeral home.
