He never met a person that he wouldn't help, and he never stayed a stranger for long. He enjoyed helping people with odd jobs and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.Dale had a passion for the outdoors and taught his children and grandchildren to respect it. He enjoyed nature and would take his grandchildren to look for "dinosaur bones and eggs" and wildlife. He taught his family to shoot firearms and build great fires while camping and all of the responsibilities that went along with it. He shared his enjoyment of fireworks with his family and friends and loved to hear them laugh with excitement. He spent time with his family fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards or games and square dancing. Dale left a legacy of beautiful furniture with family and friends to always cherish. He was a great story teller and had a joke for every occasion. He taught his family that life is special, that nothing is more important than family and friends, that everyday is a gift and you are never guaranteed tomorrow. For AlwaysYou inspired us to do our very best, that nothing was impossible and to reach for the stars. You guided your daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and family with your love and never-ending patience. You shared yourself with us and brought joy and happiness to each of us. For each of us, you are something special. Each role you took in stride and none was more important than another. For your wife - her strength, her companion, her shining star, her lover, her friend, her soul mate, but most important, the love of her life. For your daughters - our guide through childhood, our shoulder to cry on, our supporter, our protector, but most important, our dad.For your grandchildren - their teacher of all things outdoors, their respect of wildlife and the forest, their knowledge of the stars, the giver of ice cream, their hero, but most important, you are their grandpa. For your family and friends - a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a nephew and a neighbor. A friend to all who knew you, an adviser, someone to fix what's broken and someone to build a dream. For being a husband, dad, father-in-law, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend - thank you. You are in our hearts, and your legacy will be with us always and forever. The time we had was short but never forgotten. For the memories we will treasure forever - thank you.A celebration of his life will be held at Danny and Donna Reichert's red barn at 1491 E. 380th Rd., Bolivar, MO on Friday, the third of September 2004, at 6:30 p.m.The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to help cover necessary expenses.
