Birth: Jan. 24, 1862 Death: Feb. 22, 1906 Ludwig, Charlotte C. Ludwig nee Webber Spirit of Democracy, Woodsfield, Ohio, dated, March 1, 1906 On Thursday morning, February 22, 1906, the death angel entered our home and called our dear beloved mother to her home of eternal rest. Charlotte C. Ludwig, nee Webber, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Webber. She was born January 24, 1862, and was reared to womanhood at Lewisville. She was united in marriage to Louis Ludwig of Miltonsburg on November 9, 1880, who still survives her. She had been in poor health for several months, but no one thought her end was so near until a few days previous to her departure, when she was stricken ill and continued to grow worse until God released her of her sufferings and called her to her home of eternal happiness, where no sorrows or sufferings ever come. The cause of her death was tuberculosis. All that loving hands could do was done, but to no avail. She bore her sickness patiently and was never heard to utter a word of complaint. She leaves to mourn her sad departure a husband and six children: Mrs. Annie Ackerman of Monroefield; Minnie, George, David, William and Sophia at home, and an aged mother, one brother and two sisters and a host of relatives and friends. She was a kind and loving mother and loved by all who knew her. She was laid to rest Saturday amid many flowers in the family lot in the German Evangelical cemetery at Lewisville. She united with the Evangelical church at an early age and has been a faithful member ever since. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. A. Meusch of Miltonsburg, taking for his text, St. Luke 1st chapter and 45th verse. Our once happy home is now robed in mourning and we realize the sorrow of desolation that rest over us when such a dear one is called away, but we can only say God's will be done. The loss of such a dear one shall never be forgotten by us, but our only consolation is that mamma is in heaven and if we live for our God we shall meet her in her eternal home never more to part.
