Services for Richard A `Dick` Brown, 87, of Longview will be 11 a.m.Friday at First Lutheran Church with Rev`s Phil Fenton and L.D. Braunofficiating. Burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery. The family willreceive friends at Welch Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today. He died Tuesdaymorning in a local hospital. Mr. Brown was born May 16, 1905 inWoodsfield, Ohio and was a resident of Longview since the early 1930`scoming from Ohio to work in the East Texas oil field. After heretired from Arco, he worked 10 years for Art Machin. He was a memberof Arco Retirees and a member of the First Lutheran Church. He alsotaught Sunday School and was active in various functions of theChurch. He was preceded in death by wife, Charlotte. Survivorsinclude two sons and daughters-in-laws, Richard C and Libby Brown ofPlano and Charles R and Carolynn Brown of Dickenson; a sister, MarthaGillespie of Colliers, W. Va four grandchildren and fourgreat-grandchildren.
