Obituary:
CALDWELL - Leo Leonard Gerst, 83, of near Fulda, a retired farmer, died
at 9:45 a.m. Monday (Jan 24 1966) at Summit Acres Nursing Home here. He
had been in failing health. He was born May 18, 1882, a son of Phillip and
Mary Dimmerling Gerst. Mr. Gerst was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic
church at Fulda.
Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth, three sons, Ralphael of Caldwell, Herman
of Navarre, and Donald of Caldwell Route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Schell
of Caldwell Route 4 and Mrs. Evelyn Rohrig of Navarre; 35 grandchildren and 28
great-grandchildren. Nine children are deceased. Also receding him in death were
his first wife, Olivia Schott and his second wife, Dena Hupp. He was the last of
a family of six children. The body is at Estadt Funeral Home.
Services will be held at St. Mary?s Church in Fulda at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
