Charles Frederick ?Chase? Breiner
Mr. Charles Frederick "Chase" Breiner, 69, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, after a long illness.
He was born and raised in Valley Stream, New York. After graduating from High School, he entered the U.S. Army and served two years. He received a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina in 1961. Mr. Breiner worked for Merrill Lynch for 30 years, 11 of them in Charlotte, retiring as Resident Vice President of the Canaveral Complex, Florida in 1990. He subdivided and developed Chase Hill in Boone. In 1995, he founded Chases Beachfront Bar and Restaurant in New Smyrna Beach.
Survivors include his wife of almost 47 years, Nancy "Kay" Waggoner Breiner; two daughters: Anna Caulfield of Edgewater, Fla. and Mary Lee Walker of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Madeline Caulfield, Rebekah Anderson, Johanna Caulfield and Jack Walker; two brothers, Frederick Breiner of Delancy, N.Y. and Gerald Breiner of New Smyrna Beach; three sisters: Joan Ferreira of Bluffton, S.C., Marilyn Schaupp of The Villages, Fla. and Janice Jerimias of Chestertown, N.Y.; his mother-in-law, Anna P. Waggoner of Graham, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Gerald Hollan of Fort Myers, Fla.; and two sons-in-law, William Walker and Edward Caulfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick A. and Madeline W. Breiner, and his son, Charles F. "Chuck" Breiner, Jr.
A celebration of his life will be held at Chases Restaurant at sunrise on Wednesday, March 2. Baldwin Brothers funeral service is presiding.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Hospice of Volusia-Flagler or the American Cancer Society.
