James V. Alig
ALIG, James V., 73, of St. Albans, W.Va., departed this life February 18, 2005 following a short illness.
He was born February 4, 1932 in Wheeling, W.Va., the son of the late Valentine and Helen (Poulton) Alig.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of St. Albans; a U.S. Navy Korean veteran; retired Sales Engineer for Dow Chemical; a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree Knight); and a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic War Veterans. He was a 25 year resident of St. Albans.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sally M. Alig; three daughters, Erin Wieczorkowski and husband, Rich, of Moundsville, Susan Ness and husband, Gavin, of Port Hedland, Aus., and Kelly Nagel and husband, Paul, of Maineville, Ohio; two sons, James R. Alig and his wife, Monique, of Danville, Va., and Jay M. Alig of St. Albans; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Stacey Wieczorkowski, Alicia Wieczorkowski and fiance, Eddie Swierkos, Brandon and Kaitlin Scarberry, Morgan and Chloe Nagel; a great-granddaughter, Lexi Swierkos; and a brother, Richard Alig of Wauseon, Ohio.
A Christian Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2005 with Celebrant Father Patrick M. McDonough at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 22, 2005 with Celebrant Father Patrick McDonough officiating at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at a later date in the St. Patrick's Cemetery at Teays Valley.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. February 21, 2005 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
