Birth: Sep. 3, 1924 Death: Dec. 21, 2014 The funeral for Wilbert Rath, Wishek, ND will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Burial will be at the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND. Wilbert Rath was born September 3, 1924 to John W. and Alvina (Foerder) Rath at their farm home in McIntosh County. He grew up on the family farm and received his education in a one room school house. Wilbert married Tillie Deisz on November 6, 1952 at Linton, ND. Wilbert was a farmer; he owned and operated his own truck hauling cattle and wheat, helped build grain bins and helped Tillie at Tillie’s Dairy Freeze. He liked to dance, listen to Polka Music, go camping and most of all he loved to play pool and said he was a sharpshooter. Wilbert died Sunday, December 21, 2014, two days short of one year from the day Tillie passed away on December 23, 2013. He was 90 years old. Their family and friends knew that Wilbert and Tillie were an inseparable pair and knew how much Wilbert missed his partner of 60 years. Wilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Tillie, his parents, his step-mother, Christina Rath, his brother, Walter Rath and two sisters-in-law, Rose Deisz and Angie Deisz.
