Frances Tavormina of Woodbourne, a nurse and risk manager for Community General Hospital, died Saturday February 5, 2005, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. She was 69 years of age.The daughter of the late Clarence and Antonette Wolfe Wegman, she was born April 19, 1935, in Callicoon.Mrs. Tavormina was a volunteer for Hospice of Sullivan County and a substitute nurse at the Fallsburg and Tri-Valley Schools. She was a charter member of the Woodbourne First Aid Squad and a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Woodbourne Fire Company #1; an active member of Retired Chapter #82; a founder of the Head Start program in Woodbourne and First Federally Funded Nursing Program in Sullivan County; and a clerk at the Fallsburg Library.She is survived by her husband, Gary Tavormina, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Catherine Tavormina of Woodbourne; a daughter Nancy Tavormina-McLain of Woodbourne; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Tabatha and James; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Donald LaBarge of Sarasota, Fla., and Roberta and Peter Chama-lian of Burlington, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Berdellans of the state of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.Services were held Monday evening at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne with the Rev. Robert Konvalin officiating.Burial was made in the Workman's Circle Cemetery in Glen Wild.Memorial contributions may be made to the Frances Tavormina Special Education Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Gary Tavormina, P.O.
