Melva Jean Trank, age 83, of Bath, NY died Thursday November 20, 2008 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility, in Bath. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m Monday (Nov. 24) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday (Nov. 25) with Rev. Lucinda O´Leary officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Activities Dept. Fund c/o SCHCF 7009 Rumsey St. Ext. Bath, NY 14810.Melva was born August 11, 1925 in Penn Yan, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd R. and Mary Loree Nageldinger. On Aug. 10, 1946 in Himrod, NY she married the late Charles James Trank; he passed away on June 2, 1984. Formerly of Galeton, PA prior to suffering a stroke in 1989, she has resided at the Steuben County Health Care Facility since 1991. Mrs. Trank was a member of Galeton Baptist Church; and was an avid embroiderer.A loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed by a son Kenneth L. (Marjorie) Trank of Dundee; 2 daughters Jean M. Irwin of Himrod, and Jane L. Morrow of Savona; a brother Donald (Phyllis) Nageldinger of Washington, W.V.; a sister Mary ?Dottie? Meyers of Dundee; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a niece raised as a granddaughter and her 3 children loved as great grandchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews.She was pre-deceased by a sister Hilda ?Toot? Marusarz in 1989, 4 brothers, Charles Nageldinger in 1990, Robert Nageldinger in 1991, Floyd ?Dick? Nageldinger in 1994, James Nageldinger in 2005, and 2 son-in-laws Gary Morrow in 2002, and Harry Irwin in 2008.
