"Jack" Yockey, 88, of 41200 Sandbar Road died at 6:04 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 28, 2003) at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodsfield. He was born Sept. 5, 1915, near Sycamore Valley to George C. and Leah McVay Yockey. He was a retired farmer and a former Franklin Township trustee for 20 years in Monroe County. He was also a member of Hines Chapel Church of Christ near Sycamore Valley, Ohio, and the Monroe County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, Wanda G. Hupp Yockey, whom he married on June 22, 1937; one daughter, Eleanor Leeper and her husband, Robert, of Lewisville; two grandchildren, Gyl Poling and Eric Miracle; and two great-grandchildren, Logan Sims and Nick Sims. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clem Yockey and Cecil Yockey; two sisters, Myrl Vess and Nina Vess; an infant sister, Elizabeth Yockey; and one son-in-law, Lowell Miracle. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield with Harold Kinney Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Creighton Ridge Cemetery near Sycamore Valley, Ohio.
