He married Mary Elizabeth Lambrix (B. July 6, 1844 in Canada, Died on August 6, 1883 in Jamestown Twp, Ottawa Co., Michigan).They have six children are Philip, Helene,Catherine, Peter, Anna,Joseph. Mary Elizabeth Lambrix's parents are Andreas (later Andrew) Lambrix and Elizabeth Huber of Germany. Peter Michels's parents are Joseph Michels and possible Helene (?).
