Ava Sue Gray Keevert
Ava Sue Gray Keevert, 87, of Angleton, passed away October 28, 2006, at Angleton Danbury Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1918, in Ft. Stockton, Texas, to Ed and Evah Gray. She graduated from high school in Corrizo Springs, Texas, where she later met and married the new band director, Clarence Keevert.Sue?s occupations ranged from a factory worker during World War II to a Texas Legislative aide to an elementary school attendance clerk. Her main focus, however, was her family. Sue was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a role model to all who knew her. Sue was an active and involved member of the Angleton Church of Christ.Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Keevert, her sons, Clarence Edward Keevert, and an infant son, her parents, Ed and Evah Gray, and brother Earl Gray.She is survived by her daughter, Karen Kielman and husband, Charles, of Angleton; her sisters, Ruthelle Wiggins and husband Bill of Roswell, New Mexico, and Leatrice Nixon of Kerrville; her brothers, Glenn Gray of Hillsboro, and Leonard Gray and wife Marguerite, of Tipton, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Kirk Keevert of Houston, Scott Keevert and wife Dawn of Teague, Tracey Hill and husband Jarrett of Deer Park, Kim Blackburn and husband, Micky, of Fort Worth; daughter-in-law, Donna Keevert of Houston; 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Monday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home, Angleton. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 31, at 11 a.m. at the Angleton Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 12 p.m., Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to the Church of Christ, 1100 E. Wilkins, Angleton, or the Alzheimer?s Association, 2242 W.
