Stephen James Zwick, affectionately known as “Uncle Jim,” was born on July 13, 1917 to Nicholas and Emma Nemetz Zwick in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the United States Army in World War II. Cared for by his brother and sister-in-law, Elmer “Hank” and Mildred “Millie” Zwick, Uncle Jim passed peacefully on the morning of January 2, 2015 at Providence Pavilion in Covington, Kentucky. He loved family outings, the Cincinnati Reds, and his favorite Skyline “coney islands.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; 14 siblings; niece, Linda Haseltine; and great nephews, DJ Gutierrez and Jordan Logan.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family: nieces and nephews, Claudia Davis, Bill (Shelly) Poetter, Joan “Kit” (Steve) Lecoy, Joseph (Maria) Zwick, Teresa (Steve) Logan, Vincent (Ronda) Zwick and Victor Zwick; great nieces and nephews, Charlie (Pam), Joey (Courtney), Danielle, Brennen (Stephanie), Lauren (Kyle), Tara (Jeff), Chrissy (Ryan), Bill, Amanda (Derrick), Jennifer, Emily (Brandon), Stevie, Brittany, Grant, Karyn, Bradley, Matthew , Tori, Tommy, Sara, and Josh; and great-great nieces and nephews, Justin, Stella, Sophie, Alyssa, Madelyn, CJ, Chalize, Lily, Clayton, Brayden, Kya, Mila, McKenzie, and Matthew. He also loved and appreciated the nurses and staff of Providence Pavilion, who took great care of him.
Visitation is Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Boniface and James Church, 304 Oak Street, Ludlow, Kentucky. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Old Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow is serving the family.
Memorials are suggested to Sts. Boniface & James Church, 304 Oak Street, Ludlow, KY 41016 or to a favorite charity of donor’s choice.
