Thomas P. Zwick
age 84 of Louisville, passed away June 22, 2011 at the Altercare of Alliance Health Care Center following a recent illness. Tom was born Aug. 3, 1926 in Louisville, the son of the late Herman and Florence (Gulling) Zwick. He proudly served his country as an Army veteran of World War II. Tom and his brother, Joe owned and operated Zwick's Department Store in Louisville for many years. He served three terms as the mayor of Louisville, which he enjoyed very much. Tom was a member of American Legion Post #548 and St. Louis Catholic Church. He loved to travel with his wife, Marilyn. Tom will be remembered as a man who loved people and enjoyed life.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Paula (Steve) Harris of Poland; son, David Zwick of Massillon; sisters, Eunice Ott of Massillon, Barbara Haren of Louisville and Rosemary Phillips of South Carolina; brothers, Joseph Zwick of Louisville and Mark Zwick of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole Metzger, Jack Metzger Jr., Jessica Zwick and Daniel Zwick; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Marilyn who passed away March 29, 2011 following 60 years of marriage; sisters, Rita France, Mary Schrader, Jean Kirtley and Eileen Clapper; and brother, Patrick Zwick.
A Memorial Mass for Tom will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Menegay officiating. Interment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Tom's family will receive friends Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family to help with ongoing expenses.
