A veteran of World War II 5th Army Air Corps, He wa s a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville, Knights of Columbus, [and the] America n Legion of Louisville. Preceded in death by his wife, Eileen A. (Zwick) in April 1998; sister, Marge Menter. Survi ved by two sons and daughters-in-law, Churck and Patty Clapper of Canton, James W. and Jennif er Clapper of Alliance; two grandchildren, Adam and Jack Clapper, both of Alliance. Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, February 12 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisvill e with Fr. Ken Miller as celebrant. Burial was in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. Friends call ed Sunday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home.
