Dennis J. Weber, 84, 34045 SR 78, Lewisville, died Dec.3, 2006 at 6:15 at his home. He was born Feb. 17, 1922 near Lewisville, a son of the late John Henry and Jennie Pearl Wihler Weber.
He attended the former Star School; the Lewisville Grade School and was a 1941 graduate of Lewisville High school. He was a retired laborer with 22 years of service at Ormet Corporation, Hannibal; he was a former oil well driller and former employee of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he served in the infantry under the 10th Armored Division of General Patton. He was a 59 year member of the Buchanan Presbyterian Church near Lewisville, and was a 53 year member of the Huffman and Graysville Granges. His main interests were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed horse shoe pitching, trout fishing, hunting and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Jeanette Ridgeway Weber, whom he married July 14, 1944; a daughter, Brenda (William) Rice of Marietta; a son, Kevin Dennis (Milinda) Weber of Macksburg; four sisters, Delores Strickling of Grove City, Vera (William) VanMeter of Brimfield, Eleanor Farcas of Canton and Eileen (David) Cline of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Stacey Lee, Kimberly Weber, Jessica Weber and Zachary Mick; three great-grandchildren, Jared Lee, Breanna Lee and Carly Anderson; and a step-granddaughter, Allison Riggs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Delvin Edward Weber on July 30, 2000; two sisters, Thelma Anderson and Melba Tuel; five brothers, Roy, Wilbur, Lloyd, Eugene and Francis Weber.
Friends will be received at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, on Dec. 6, where funeral services will be held Dec. 7, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Richard Wilson and Rev. Susan Lehosky officiating. Burial will follow in Buchanan Cemetery, near Lewisville, with full military services.
