Eiko G. Smithberger
LEWISVILLE, Ohio - Eiko G. Smithberger, 57, of 33219 Back St. died at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday (April 14, 2004) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Naha City, Okinawa, Japan, to Hideko Gaja Kuba. She was a secretary for Ako Hardwood in Lewisville.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob Smithberger, whom she married on Jan. 5, 1967; two daughters, Mrs. Danny (Cindy) Graham and Mrs. Jamie (Tess) Hill, both of Woodsfield; four sisters, Kazuko Arbogast of Clarksville, Tenn., Mieko Kuba, Sueko Kuba and Terume Kuba, all of Naha City, Okinawa, Japan; one brother, Yoshio Kuba of Naha City, Okinawa, Japan; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney, Dustin and Macey Graham, and Jacob, Kory and Camden Hill; her mother-in-law, Ella Smithberger; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; one brother, Menoru Kuba; one granddaughter, Deanna Smithberger; and her father-in-law, Nelson Smithberger.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield with the Rev. David Gaydosik officiating. Burial is in Friendship Cemetery in Lewisville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
