Viola Wonedia Viock was born to Samuel K. and Minnie Ellis Viock in 1904. She was born in Ohio and was to spend most of her life there.
On November 8, 1919, she was married to John Joseph Murray. Wondedia was only 15 at the time. John was 26.
Five years later, in 1924, Wonedia had her first child, Virginia Jean. Unfortunately the marriage was not a happy one and ended in divorce. Wonedia and her daughter returned to her hometown.
Wonedia's second husband was Willard H. Rhey. They had a daughter, JoAnne Margarite. Again the marriage was to end in divorce.
To support herself, Wonedia ran a boarding house for those working on the railroad. She was to marry a third time to a railroad engineer, Leonard D. Baumgardner.
Wondedia, whose nickname was "Babe," died of congestive heart failure on August 20, 1975.
