MERCER, Lillian M. Jefferis, 94, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Tuesday in Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. She was born September 29, 1914 in Monroe Co., daughter of Clement and Rebecca (Stephen) Burkhart.
She was a member of Assumption Church, Altar Society, Catholic Womens Club, VFW, Bridgeport Eagles and Wellsburg LOOM Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by husband, Walter D. Jefferis, Sr; son, Walter D. Jefferis, Jr; three brothers, Everett, Francis, and Joseph Burkhart; and three sisters, Audrey Carpenter, Luzelda Stephen and Virginia Kimble.
Surviving are her husband, Harlan Mercer; son, Robert (Sandra) Jefferis of Barnesville; daughter, Donna (James) Lee of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Jefferis of Fulton, MS; sister, Edna Tepley of Wickliffe, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grand children; and six great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9.m. Friday at Campbell- Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St, Barnesville, OH. Mass 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Church with Msgr. Mark Froehlich. Burial in Crestview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Assumption Catholic Church.
