ZANESVILLE - Audrey V. Burkhart Carpenter, 86, of Zanesville, died at 11:25 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005 at Select Hospital in Zanesville, following a short illness.
She was born on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1919, in Monroe County, the daughter of Clement and Rebecca J. Stephens Burkhart.
She was a homemaker, a loving, caring, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the St. John's Auxillary at St. Nicholas Church, the Pleasant Growers Gardening Club,the Pleasant Evening Social Group, Ladies Auxillary Knights of Columbus Council 505 and the Ladies Auxillary Eagles.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda L. Carmichael and Connie Jo Wilson and her fianc? Lonnie Moore, both of Zanesville; one son, Stanley W. Carpenter and wife Rose Mary of Howell, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Doug Geyer, Daffney Geyer, Kelly Lewis, Kent Carpenter, Rene Lengnick, Kem Wilson and Travis Wilson; nine great-grandchildren, Wesley Geyer, Andrew Geyer, Madison Geyer, Monica Lewis, Darren Lewis, Brady "Little Willie" Wilson, Emily Wilson, Georgi Wilson, and Hannah "Little Audrey" Wilson; and three sisters, Lillian Mercer of Barnesville, Edna Tepley of East Lake, and Luzelda Stephens of St. Clairsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank "Willie" Willis Carpenter on June 30, 2002; two sisters, Virginia Kimble and Hilda Burkhart; three brothers, Everett, Joseph and Francis Burkhart; and her son-in-law, Frank Carmichael.
Friends may call Monday, Aug. 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Christian Vigil service at 3:30 p.m. and a video tribute being presented at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005 at10:30 a.m. with Fr. Leo L. Connolly as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
