Burkhart, 90, of 33473 Walter Ridge Road died Thursday , March 14, 2002 at Barnesville Hospital in Barnesville.He was born December 28, 1911, in Calais, Ohio, to Clemence J. and Rebecca Stephens Burkhart. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Miltonsburg, Ohio. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Barnesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2792 at Barnesville.He is survived by his wife, Helen Crum Crock Burkhart, whom he married July 31, 1975; three stepdaughters, Hazel May of Beallsville, Linda Swallie of Barnesville and Wilma Burkhart of Woodsfield; one stepson, Robert Crock of Massillon; four sisters, Lilly Mercer of Barnesville, Edna Tepley of East Lake, Ohio, Audrey Carpenter of Zanesville and Luzelda Stephens of St. Clairsville; 20 stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter, Betty Doty; one sister, Virginia Kimble; and two brothers, Everett Burkhart and Joseph Burkhart.Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Miltonsburg with Father David Gaydosik as celebrant. Burial is in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery with full military graveside services conducted by the Belmont Veterans Council of the V.F.W.Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield. Vigil services are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
