Weber, Martha Lee Carpenter Weber nee PennellSource--Marietta Times Marietta, OhioPublished--September 29, 2005Weber, Martha Lee Pennell Carpenter, 93, formerly of Lewisville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Jesus at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 28, 2005) at The Arbors of Marietta.She was born in Jerusalem, Ohio, on Nov. 20, 1911, a daughter of the late Maywood Ira and Della Ina Shouse Pennell.She was a 1931 graduate of the former Lewisville High School, Lewisville; a homemaker; a member of the Trinity Church of Christ near Lewisville; the Lewisville Methodist Church; and was a member of the Farm Bureau. She formerly resided at the Inn of Marietta before going to the Arbors of Marietta.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Carpenter on Oct. 10, 1965; her second husband, Wesley T. Weber, on Aug. 24, 1999; three brothers, Glen, Halbert, and Cyril Pennell; a grandson, Todd Piatt; a son-in-law, Lester L. Piatt; and two stepsons, Robert and Vernon Weber.Surviving are two daughters, Anna Lee Piatt of Marietta and Ruth (Doug) Earley of Marietta; two sons, Byron (Jo Anne) Carpenter of Venice, Fla., and Wallace (Judy) Carpenter of Lewisville; three stepdaughters, Darlene (Norm) Mercer of Harrison, Ruth Radar of Zanesville, and Wanda (Gary) Seagraves of Springfield; one stepson, Richard (Mary Jo) Weber of Cambridge; one stepdaughter-in-law, Louise Weber of Huntsville; a sister-in-law, Virginia Pennell of Lewisville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; 30 step great-grandchildren; and 11 step great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Gale Lauderman and Karen Binford officiating. Burial will follow in the Calais Cemetery, Calais, Ohio.
