Sylvia Louise Swick Feiock, 86, of 30 Sage Road, Ithaca was promoted to Glory and began eternity with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 while at home surrounded by her family.
Sylvia was in Trumansburg, a daughter of the late Harry and Hattie (Jackson) Swick. In 1945, she graduated from Trumansburg High School.
Sylvia took great pride in caring for her family. She married Leslie Feiock on June 28, 1947 and the two made their home in Ithaca. Her faith was truly an inspiration to those around her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumansburg since 1974 and served the church in many ways including missions and being on the diaconate board. Sylvia continued to minister to all family, visitors, and caregivers, even after she was homebound.
Sylvia is survived by two beloved sons, Mark Feiock of Penn Yan and Eric (Alicia) Feiock of Ithaca; one nephew, Howard Harvey of Oswego; two step grandsons Brad (Amber) Vinsek and Travis (Britney) Vinsek; six step great grandchildren; and several women helpers Shilah, Danielle, Jackie, Anne, Carol, Marty, Lisa, and Amy, the first of which became like a granddaughter to her and her son, A.J. were both very loved by Sylvia. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Leslie Feiock in 2008; an infant son, Mark in 1954; a sister, Audrey Harvey; and two brothers, Donald and Owen Swick.
The family received friends Saturday, August 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 4443 Seneca Road, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service was held at the church with Rev. Dennis Christiansen officiating. Prayers of committal will be held in Grove Cemetery for family only.
