BARNESVILLE - Edith L. Kirkman, 92, of Barnesville, formerly a lifetime resident of Woodsfield, died Thursday (Nov. 20, 2003) at Barnesville Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Lewisville, to Edward C. and Minnie Diehl Feiock. She was a retired Woodsfield Elementary School teacher, having taught for more than 40 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Woodsfield, the Retired Teachers Association of Monroe County, and the American Legion Auxiliary of Woodsfield. She was also a member and former worthy matron of the Eastern Star Lodge 268 of Woodsfield. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Van Dyne of Barnesville; one nephew, Jim Van Dyne and his wife, Carolyn, of Englewood; and one great-niece, Carla Lynn Van Dyne of Englewood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Kirkman.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, with the Rev. Roger Brown officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Eastern Star Lodge services are at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
