Minnie Schell Singer's obituary was published in the Zanesville Signal on 7 Aug 1956: MRS. SINGER, 81, DIES AT HOSPITALMrs. Minnie Singer, 81, of Caldwell Route 1, died at 2 o?clock Tuesday morning [7 Aug 1956] at Good Samaritan hospital after a brief illness. She was admitted to the hospital last Thursday. Mrs. Singer was born Feb. 15, 1875, in the Fulda community, the daughter of Phillip and Catherine Schott Schell. She was a member of St. Mary?s Cath-olic church at Fulda and was a member of the Altar Society of the church. For the past nine months, she had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Winifred Hill of 58 Green street [Zanesville]. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Hill, with whom she lived, Mrs. Ida Brahler and Mrs. Lydia Blake, both of Louisville, O., Mrs. Edna Hayes of Yakima, Wash.; and Mrs. Laura Kirby of Cleveland; three sons, Fred and Carl Singer of Cleveland and Joseph Singer of Caldwell Route 4; one sister, Mrs. Rose Warner of 1137 Lafayette street; three brothers, Leonard Schell of Canton, Alex of San Antonio, Tex.; and Chris Schell of near Caldwell Route; 29 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Five brothers preceded her in death, and her husband, Alex, died 21 years ago. The body was removed to the Hillis funeral home where friends may call after 7 o?clock Tuesday evening. Another obituary appeared in The Louisville Herald on 16 Aug 1956:Mrs. Minnie Singer, aged 81, of RD 1, Caldwell O., died early Tuesday morning[7 Aug 1956] at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville after a brief illness. She hadmade her home with her daughter, Mrs. Edgar Hill in Zanesville for the past ninemonths.In addition to Mrs. Hill survivors include four daughters, three sons, three brothers,one sister, 29 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. Two of her daughters are Mrs.Ida Brahler and Mrs. Fred Blake of Louisville.Services on Aug. 9 were held at St. Mary's Church at Fulda, Ohio, where she was alife member. Burial was in the church cemetery.
