NORMAN J. SINGER FUNERAL FRIDAYIntermenty in Mount Calvary for man shot by Patrolman.Interment in Mount Calvary for man shot by Patrolman.Funeral services are to be conducted Friday morning at 9 o'clock in the Altmeyer funeral home for Norman J. Singer, an employee of the Wheeling Corrugating Company and a life resident of the Sixth Ward, who died early Tuesday morning as the result of a bullet wound.Rev. Father Alban, O.M. Cap., of St. Alphonsus church will have charge of the service. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Singer, who was apprehended by police for questioning, was shot by Patrolman Elmer Hehr when he broke away from the police and refused to stop when called upon to do so as he fled from them at the corner of Alleys 16 and E.Norman J. Singer was born in Wheeling June 9, 1915, a son of Barney and May Archer Singer, and has been a life resident of the Sixth ward. He was educated at Webster school and was a member of the Catholic faith. Prior to his employment at the Corrugating plant, he had been employed at the J. L. Stifel and Sons Company. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Becker Singer, to whom he was married two years ago, an infant daughter, Norma Jean Singer; four sisters, Mrs. Bernard Landers, Mrs. Earl Howard; Mrs. George Dindfuss; and Mia Bernadine Singer; all of Wheeling, and a number of nieces and nephews.
