Eugene Stoebner was born November 14, 1914 in McPherson County, South Dakota to John and Magdalena (Herr) Stoebner. He graduated from Eureka High School, then attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota for one and one-half years. He taught school in Campbell and McPherson Counties for over 25 years. Later he became manager of the McIntosh Farms. His hobby is gardening. Eugene had six brothers and three sisters, namely: Fred, deceased; Magdalena Pietz, deceased; Emil, Spokane, Washington; Edward, Eureka; Martha Tribble, deceased; Adolph, deceased; Emma Weisenburger, Seattle, Washington; William, Eureka; and Otto, Phoenix, Arizona. Alma McIntosh Stoebner was born May 7, 1919 in Walworth County, South Dakota to Fred and Bertha (Gill) McIntosh. She graduated from Bowdle High School. She is a registered nurse, graduating from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago, Illinois. She worked one year at St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen, South Dakota and then became Director of Nursing at the Eureka Community Hospital. This position was held until December 1980. She then worked part-time until June 1984. Alma is a member and past-president of the Eureka Hospital Auxiliary. She has two brothers: Dr. George F. McIntosh, Eureka and Clarence McIntosh, Northome, Minnesota. Eugene and Alma were married July 24, 1950 at the Methodist Church, Selby, South Dakota. The Stoebners have three sons: James Eugene, born May 29, 1951. He is an Electrical Engineer with Texas Instruments in Houston, Texas. Jim received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota. He has three children: Diane Gail, born March 13, 1972; James Patrick, born November 18, 1978 and Jennifer Lynn, born October 13, 1980. John Eugene was born November 7, 1952. He graduated with a B.S degree in Science from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He also received a Master's degree in counseling from Northern State College, Aberdeen, South Dakota plus courses in Computer. He is a Science and Computer instructor in Cresbard, South Dakota. Joseph Eugene, was born August 26, 1960. He received his degree in Pharmacy from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota. He is a Registered Pharmacist at Kessler's Pharmacy, Aberdeen. He is married to the former Laura Pfeiffer of Aberdeen and they have one daughter, Sarah Ann, born January 29, 1984. The Stoebners are members of the Eureka Reformed Church.
