- ERMA G. (HURRELBRINK) HORNBERGER
Erma G. (Hurrelbrink) Hornberger, 87, Baldwin City, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, Lawrence. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ, one mile north of Worden.
She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in rural Franklin County to Fred J. and Edna (Morasch) Hurrelbrink. She grew up and attended school in the Franklin County area. She was a cook for Baker University, Baldwin City, and also worked at Marion Springs Elementary School. She also was a homemaker.
She married Charles F. Hornberger, Sept. 1, 1944, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Worden. They were married 52 years. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, gardening and 4-H.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet R. Breithaupt, Lawrence; sons, Victor D. Hornberger and Charles "Chip" Hornberger Jr., both of Baldwin City; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith A. Runft, and sisters, Grace and Dorothy Stoneking.
Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Worden. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., tonight, at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin City.
