  [S927] Obituary. The service for Irene M. Grosz, 86, Aberdeen, will be 2:00pm, Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Plymouth Congregational UCC with Pastor Richard Fylling officiating. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Irene died Monday, June 16, at Avera St. Luke?s Hospital. At her request, closed casket visitation from 1-7pm, Wednesday at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. Aberdeen. Irene Hoff was born on July 14, 1921 at Eureka, SD to Theodore & Mathilda (Bauer) Hoff. This is the area where she grew up and attended school. On July 11, 1943 she married Walter Grosz. Irene was a homemaker and helped Walter on the farm; hauling bales, milking cows, and feeding chickens. Irene enjoyed visiting with Delmar & JoAnn Metzger and Carol Duenwald. She was a fan of Daniel O?Donnell and was able to go to his concert in Sioux Falls with her niece, Carol. Irene was a great cook, and was very talented at making fudge. She kept a very large garden. Irene was a member of Plymouth Congregational UCC Church and a past member of St. Paul?s United Church of Christ in Eureka. Grateful for having shared her life are her niece, Carol Duenwald, Slaton, MN; great niece, Lisa (Tim) Stotz and their children, Derek & Kelsey, Sioux Falls, SD. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Milbert Hoff. In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to Plymouth Congregational UCC.
