His family will be present for visitation on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Clarence Martin Hoff was born on November 28, 1924 in Eureka, South Dakota to Jacob and Lydia (Arnold) Hoff. He received his education there. Following high school Clarence enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served during WWII. Following his honorable discharge he attended barber school. On November 18, 1951 he was united in marriage with Ella Kappes in Ashley, North Dakota. The couple were blessed with three children while living in the communities of Ashley, ND, Aberdeen and finally making their home in Sioux Falls in 1963. Clarence spent a lifetime as a barber, never quite retiring. He was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church, The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Clarence was a hard worker, who enjoyed telling stories, shooting marbles, hunting and fishing. Above all he loved his family; especially his grandchildren. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Ella; three children, Greg (Tonya) Hoff, Durwin (Rachael De Rycke) Hoff and Shirley Hoff all of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, Sognia McGloghlon, Teri Jo Kinsey, Jennifer Jean Hoff, Lindsey Marie Hoff, and Joshua Gregory Hoff; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Milbert (Jenell) Hoff, Rapid City, SD, Alton (Sherri) Hoff, Aberdeen, SD and Jake (Sandy) Hoff, Madison, WI; a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Lydia Hoff; grandson Wayne Michael Hoff; seven siblings, Ida Diegel, Christine Wolfer, Ann Obenauer, Ruben Hoff, Ervin Hoff, Hilda Jones and Herman Hoff.
