BIOGRAPHY
Hilda C. Simons 90, Rapid City, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Fountain Springs Health Care in Rapid City.
Hilda was born at Eureka, SD to John Hoff and Fredrika Hoff (Holzworth) on December 18, 1920. She graduated from Bison High School in 1939. Hilda married Louis C. Simons in 1941.
Louis and Hilda operated a farm/ranch in Perkins Co. until the late 50’s. At that time they moved to Spearfish, SD. In the 70’s Rapid City became their home for retirement.
Survivors include daughter-in-law Bonnie K. Simons, Rapid City, grand-daughter Jackie Castillo and her husband Joe, Denver, CO; two great-granddaughters, Sara C. Reed, Carlsbad, NM and Maya M. Simons and her mother, Jody McClendon and brother’s Sagan and Eli McClendon of Rapid City. Hilda is survived by two brothers: Albert Hoff, Bison, SD and Carl Hoff, Enumclaw, WA; two sisters, Alma Belohlavek, OR, and Alice Looney, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis C.; son, Louis M., and grandson, Louis J. Simons.
Visitation will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday, August 11, 2011 with a Wake Service to follow at 7:00 pm at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the Ladies Chapel .
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City in the Ladies Chapel also with Father Nathan Sparks officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City.
