He was a native of Harrison County and a retired employee of Smith Transfer Co. Survivors include his wife, the former Leona J. Fessel; three sons: Ronald Kochert of Columbus and Larry and Steve Kochert of New Albany; two daughters: Jane Timberlake of Lanesville and Margaret Kochert of New Albany; a brother, Louis Kochert of Lanesville; three sisters: Victoria McKinney of Anchorage, Ky., Rosina Timperman of Louisville and Florence Rochner of Bradford; and 11 grandchildren. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery in Bradford. Kraft Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Leona J. Fessel; three sons, Ronald of Columbus, Larry and Steve, both of New Albany; two daughters, Jane Timberlake of Lanesville, and Margaret Kochert of New Albany; brother, Louis Kochert of Lanesville; three sisters, Victoria McKinney of Anchorage, Ky., Rosina Timperman of Louisville, Florence Rochner of Bradford; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home will be after 6 p.m. today. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Bradford. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
