He died Wednesday at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, the former Lucille Kochert; four sons, David Buechler, Palmyra, Maurice Buechler, Mitchell, Melvin Buechler, Bedford and Richard Buechler, Orleans; a daughter, Diane Whitehouse, New Salisbury; two brothers, John Buechler, Bradford and Herman Buechler, Floyds Knobs; three sisters, Geneva Smith, Starlight, Juanita Smith, Floyds Knobs and Valeria Daus, Louisville; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. tomorrow at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. today at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
