Obit:1954Letzelter, Mrs. Edith Mabel (nee--Bishop)Source--NewsclippingPublished--1954Letzelter, Mrs. Edith Mabel Bishop, 68, of 115 North Sixteenth Street, Warwood, W.Va., died Friday evening, July 2nd, (1954), in Van Nuys, California, after being injured when a car in which she and her husband were riding with another couple was wrecked by another car as they stopped for a traffic signal.Mrs. Letzelter was riding in the rear seat and was thrown against the front seat, apparently suffering a ccrushed chest. The Letzelters had been vacationing in California since January. Her husband and the other couple escaped injury.Mrs. Letzelter was born in Woodsfield on September 5, 1885, the daughter of the late James and Cynthia Ring Bishop. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church at Warwood, the Christian Mothers of that parish and the Warwood Women's Club.She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Letzelter, retired Warwood plumbing contractor; two sons, James R. Letzelter and Joseph M. Letzelter, both of Warwood; one brother , Averill Bishop, in Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Lester Lobenstein, of Beckley, W.Va. and Mrs. Edward Nahm, of Akron, and seven grandchildren.The body arrived by air in Pittsburgh late Sunday and was removed to the Bodey Funeral Home in Warwood.A High Mass of Requiem was solemnized Wednesdaay morning at nine o'clock in Corpus Christi Church at Warwood.Interment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
