Norbert E. Schumacher
Norbert E. Schumacher, 68, 47295 Moore Rdg. Rd., Woodsfield, died Dec. 17, 2002 in the U.M.P.C. Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born near Woodsfield, Dec. 23, 1933, a son of the late Leo and Barbara Weisend Schumacher. He was a retired farmer, a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War, a former board member of the Monroe Soil and Water Conservation, a member of the Monroe County Farm Bureau; a former board member of Landmark, a former board member of the A.S.C.S. in Monroe County and a former member of the Holstein Dairy Association.
Surviving are his wife, Ada Harmon Schumacher, whom he married on April 8, 1967; three sisters, Sister Evelyn Ann Schumacher, Manitowoc, Wisc.: Lucille Block, Cincinnati, Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) King, of Beverly; brother, William Schumacher and his wife, Carol, Woodsfield; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, David Lee Schumacher; his step-mother, Marie Schumacher; four brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Ambrose and Gilbert Schumacher; sister, Mary Jennings.
Friends were received at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Dec. 20. Funeral liturgy with Mass was celebrated Dec. 21 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, with full military graveside services by the Belmont Veterans Council. Vigil services were held Dec. 20 at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Sylvester Catholic School, 119 Wayne St. Woodsfield, Oh 43793.
