WILLIAM SCHUMACHERWilliam B. Schumacher, 76, Newark, formerly of Woods-field, died Oct. 12, 2008, at his home in the presence of his family. He was born Jan. 5, 1932 in Woodsfield, a son of the late Leo and Barbara Weisend Schu-macher.He served his country from 1953-55 in the U.S. Army. He was a 30-year retiree of Ormet Corporation of Hannibal. He also built homes and raised registered Polled Hereford cattle. He served many offices in the South Eastern Polled Hereford Association and was a member of the Monroe County Fairboard for 18 years. He was a member of St. Sylvester parish in Woodsfield.He was a great supporter of high school sports. He loved his farm, country, family and God. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile.Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Carol Secrest Schumach-er of Newark; two sons, Tom (Cindy) Schumacher, Stephen Schumacher, both of Woods-field; two daughters, Jane (Jeff) Cox, Sally (Danny) Mummey, both of Newark; 10 grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny) Schumacher, Rachael Schumacher, John Schumacher, Lance Schumach-er, Amy, Kevin and Mitchell Cox, Hannah, Joseph and Shae Mummey; and his great-grandson and namesake, Billy Schumacher; two sisters, Lucille Block of Cincinnati and Sr. Evelyn Ann Schumacher of Manitowac, Wisc.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Gilbert, Ambrose, Norbert Schumacher; two sisters, Mary Jennings and Evelyn King.Friends will be received Oct. 15 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Bauer-Turner Funereal Home, Woodsfield. A Funeral Mass with Military Services will be observed on Oct. 16, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield.Burial will be in the church cemetery. William B. Schumacher, age 76, of Newark, Ohio formerly of Woodsfield passed away Sunday Oct. 12, 2008 in the presence of his family at his home. He was born Jan 5, 1932 in Woodsfield, Ohio to the late Leo and Barbara Weisend Schumacher.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Secrest Schumacher of Newark, Ohio, sons Tom (Cindy) Schumacher and Stephen Schumacher both of Woodsfield. His daughters Jane(Jeff) Cox and Sally (Danny) Mummey both of Newark, Ohio. Grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny) Schumacher; Rachael Schumacher; John and Lance Schumacher; Amy, Kevin, and Mitchell Cox; Hannah, Joseph, and Shae Mummey and his great grandson and namesake, Billy Schumacher.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawerence, Charles, Gilbert, Ambrose and Norbert Schumacher and sisters Mary Jennings and Evelyn King. He is survived by sisters Lucille Block of Cincinnati and Sr. Evelyn Ann Schumacher of Manitowac, Wisconsin.

Family and friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 on Wednesday, October 15th at the Bauer - Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield. A Funeral Mass with Military Services will be observed on Thursday, Oct. 16th at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
