Obituary (from Betty Hartley): Richard J. Haren, 73, 40400 Haren Road, Woodsfield, died Saturday, July 5, 1997 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born June 6, 1924 in Monroe County, son of the late Richard Haren and Louise Schwall Haren. A retired saw mill owner and operator, he was a veteran of World War II; a member of the VFWPost 5305 of Woodsfield, and St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Woodsfield.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cyrel Haren; a sister, Lucille Yoss.Surviving are his wife Mary Elizabeth Menkel Haren of Woodsfield; a son, James E. Haren of Woodsfield; two daughters, Jo Anne Eddy of Woodsfield and Rosemary Grubbs of Cambridge; two sisters, Kathlene Edington and Lela Hunnell, both of Woodsfield; seven granchildren and two great grandchildren.Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Minister Harry Summers officiating.Burial follows in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.
