Griesemer, 81, of Hopedale, died at 3:50 p.m. Friday, June 13, 1980 in Hopedale Medical Complex. She had been a patient since Apr. 27. Born in Canton Oct 17, 1898 she was a daughter of William and Matilda Horn Johnson. Her marriage to Leon C. Griesemer took place May 4, 1921, at Peoria. He died in 1959.Surviving are one son, Leon of Hopedale; one daughter Mary Jean Watkins of Hopedale; two sister, Mrs. Margaret Pearl Anderson and Mrs. Matilda Mae Arnold, both of Peoria; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.One brother and one sister are deceased.She was a member of Hopedale United Methodist church, its Lydia Circle, and a charter member of Hopedale Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of American legion Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in her church. Rev. Walter Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Orndorff Cemetery.Visitation will be at Davis Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society."
