"MRS PETER KUMPF DIED THIS MORNING
Mrs. Mary A. Kumpf wife of Peter Kumpf and one of Pekin's well known and highly esteemed residents died at her home 316 Park Avenue this morning. Her maiden name was Mary A. Griesemer and she was born in Miltonsburg, Ohio January 6, 1854. She came to Tazewell county with her parents when 12 years old and lived in the county ...?
On September 13, 1874 she was united in marriage to Peter Kumpf and the family has resided at the Park Avenue address for many years. Mrs. Kumpf was a kind hearted, charitable Christian woman and has many friends who will regret to learn of her passing.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Theresa Agin of Kansas City, Mo., and Miss Imogene Kumpf of Pekin and one son Roy Kumpf, Pekin. A son, Frank Kumpf died six years ago. She also leaves three brothers, John, Charles and Henry Griesemer and one sister, Mrs. George McMullen, all of Hopedale. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive.
Friends may call at the residence Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at the Lohnes funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery."
The funeral of Mrs. Peter Kumpf was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, 314 Park Avenue, the services being conducted by Rev. A. A. Zimmerman of St. Paul's Evangelical church. The singers were Miss Helen Reuling, Miss Louise Kicker and William Kuecks. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery and the pallbearers were Charles Hatcher, Everett Stoneking, Joseph Presley, William Moore, Robert Hornish and John T. Elliff."
