Obituary from Wayne County Press, 8/26/15: Sarah Ann Weaver-YockeySarah Ann Weaver-Yockey daughter of George and Elizabeth Weaver was born near Washington, Pa., March 27, 1827, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Zerkie [sic] of Cisne, August 17, 1915, age 88 years, 4 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Yockey, February 14th, 1850 at Miltonsburg, Monroe county, Ohio. In 1855 they moved to Johnson county, Iowa, where they lived until 1865, when they moved to Illinois to the farm west of Rinard. To this union were born eight children, 3 boys and 5 girls, two of whom died in infancy. Her daughter Charlotte Magnolia Gray died at the age of 19 years at Palous, Washington. Five children survive her: Charles W., of Troy, Idaho; Martha M. Benner, of Xenia; Frances E. Zerkie, [sic] of Cisne; Aldorah S. McGrew, of Walla Walla, Wash.; and George W. Yockey, of Rinard. The greater part of the time since her husband?s death which occurred December 19, 1895, she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. A. Zerkie [sic], who so lovingly and tenderly cared for her during her illness. Besides her children she leaves 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one brother, James Weaver, of Johnsonville. About 1870 she united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church of Rinard while Rev. Hughey was pastor, and lived a consistent Christian life until called home by the Great Father of all. Throughout her life she was a good neighbor, a faithful wife and a devoted mother. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Huntsberry at Willow Branch on Sunday at 2 p.m. and interment in cemetery there.
