Ault, Ralph Boyd Ault
Monroe County Beacon, Woodsfield, Ohio, dated, July 6, 2006
Ralph Boyd Ault, 86, Woodsfield, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2006. He was born July 29, 1919, in Cameron, the son of Stephen and Rachel Ady Ault.
He was a man who believed wholeheartedly in the Christian faith which was demonstrated daily in all that he did. He loved to read his Bible and prayed continually.
He was baptized June 26, 1931, at the Mellott Ridge Church of Christ. He was later a member of the Goudy Church of Christ and then the Cameron Church of Christ before moving to Woodsfield. He was a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ for more than fifty years. He served as an elder for many years as well as a deacon, classroom teacher, song leader, mentor, brother and friend.
He spent many years self-employed providing mine posts for several local coal mines. After he retired, he loved to work in his shop making items for his wife, children and grandchildren. When his health prevented this, he enjoyed doing latch hook rugs and knotting quilts. He knotted many quilts for family members and for the church which were distributed to the high school graduates.
Ralph was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was always willing to help a fellow brother or anyone in need.
He will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know him.
Surviving are his loving wife, Naomi Minchs Ault; three daughters, Grace (Raymond) Brock of Raleigh, N.C., Jean (Edwin) Bartilson of Columbia, Mo., Peggy (Tom) Sharpe, Tenn; 10 grandchildren and their spouses; 17 great grandchildren; three brothers, Chester, Hilbert and Clyde Ault; sister, Sylvia Jones; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ault, Alice Neville and Etta Jane Little; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Hughes Ault; son Virgil Ray Ault; three brothers, Floyd, Lester and Stanley Ault; and two sisters, Vera McConnell and Irma Jones.
Funeral services were held June 29 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, with Ministers Sam Bartrug and John Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.
