Veiock, 89, of Bickford Cottage passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010, to join his loving wife Valerie and family. He was born on January 14, 1921 in New Brighton, PA. He graduated from Geneva College and served in WWII as a naval pilot, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and six other medals. He retired at Director of Manufacturing for Firestone Tire, before retiring to Hot Springs Village, AR. He was a charter member of Kirk in the Pines Church and served on numerous boards and foundations both in Arkansas and Des Moines. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Gantt of Scottsdale, AZ; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Victoria Veiock of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Brad Gannt, and Vanessa and Valerie Veiock; and many wonderful friends and colleagues he was blessed to know along life's highway. He was preceded in heaven by his wife, Valerie, brother, Kenny, sisters, Beulah and Deen. A celebration of his life will be held later at the Kirl in the Pines Memorial Garden in Hot Springs, AR.
