NEW SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP - Charles L. Mason Sr., 79, of New Sewickley Township, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at his residence.
NEW SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP - Charles L. Mason Sr., 79, of New Sewickley Township, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at his residence.
Born June 16, 1925, in Rochester, a son of the late Charles L. and Pearl L. Sadenwasser Mason, he was a retired supervisor with Teledyne Vasco, Monaca, and was a member of the New Sewickley Presbyterian Church. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member and past master of Rochester Lodge 229 F&AM; a past high priest of the Eureka Chapter 187 RAM; a past thrice illustrious master of the Beaver Valley Council 54; past commander of Beaver Valley Commandery 84; a member of the Golden Triangle York Rite College 32, and was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle Consistory. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Dorothy L. Veiock Mason; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles L. Mason Jr., in Ohio, and Mark A. and Toni Mason, Shaler, Pa.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Lou Edwards, Calloway, Va., and Julie A. and William Slingluff, New Sewickley Township; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Mason, Freedom; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ellen Gallagher, Brighton Township, and Margaret Ann and John Graham, New Sewickley Township, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lee Mason; a son-in-law, Buck Edwards, in 2004, and a brother, William Mason.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 349 Adams St., Rochester, where services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. His pastor, the Rev. Ronald Kronk, will officiate.
The family wishes memorial contributions be made to Rochester Masonic Lodge 229, South Park Street, Rochester, Pa. 15074.
