  [S927] Obituary. Obituary for Rocky L. Matz Sr. Rocky L. Matz Sr. Rocky L. Matz Sr.. 1955 ? 2012 Rocky L. Matz Sr., 57, of Polk, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, December 16, 2012 at his residence. Rocky was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 5, 1955 and was the son of Clyde J. and Florence JoAnn (Miller) Matz. He was a resident of Ashland County all of his life. He attended Mapleton High School. Rocky was employed by the F.E. Myers Company, (Pentair) for over 39 years where he was a maintenance welder. He was a former 4-H advisor for the Nankin Natural Farmers, a former Cub Scout Scoutmaster for the Nankin Cub Scout troop. He enjoyed woodworking, doing mechanical work on automobiles and hunting. On December 27, 1996 he was married to Deborah Thewlis who survives him. He is also survived by one daughter, Bethann Bryant of Shelby, OH; two sons, Rocky L. Matz Jr. of Ashland and Dennis Junior Matz of Polk; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca, Christian, Makynli, Jackson, and Kourtney; one brother Ronald (Doris) Matz, of Ashland; two half-sisters, Brenda Wells of Corinth, KY; Anna McKnight of Dry Ridge, KY; and one half-brother, Ray Coffman of Corinth, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ray William (Billy)Matz. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Earlenbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may c all on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and left at the funeral home.
