Margaret J. (Peg) Lang, 82 of Boonville passed away Wed. morning, May 14 at Katy Manor Care Center in Pilot Grove, Mo.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008 with Fr. Bob Duesdieker officiating. Visitation will be for two hours prior, from 9:30 until mass time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Margaret Jean Lang was born in Cooper County Feb. 2, 1926, the daughter of Marshall Ignatius Sloan and Stella Catherine Dumolt Sloan. She attended schools in Boonville and graduated from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School in 1945. She was married to Edward L. Lang on March 28, 1981 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Peggy worked for F. W. Woolworth Company for many years until it closed. She then worked at St. Joseph Hospital and Cooper County Hospital for many years, until her retirement. Peggy enjoyed quilting with her friends in the church basement and helped at the church dinners. She also enjoyed living in the country and taking care of her beautiful flower gardens.
Peg was preceded in death by one nephew, Michael D. Hoff and by her brothers in law, Henry L. Hoff, Melvan Cauthon, Jr. and a sister in law, Jane B. Sloan.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Lang, of the home and by their children, Paul A. Lang and wife Velma of Boonville, Steve E. Lang and wife Lisa of Ellisville, Mo., and Mary Ellen Roth of Boonville. She also leaves behind her brother, Marshall W. Sloan and his wife Eileen of Richfield, Minn. and her sisters Stella Kathryn Cauthon of Boonville, Helen Marie Hoff of Napton, Mo. and Betty Evelyn and husband, Kenneth Nauman of Bunceton, Mo. Her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild will also miss her.
