Lude, Wilber Henry Lude

Moundsville, W. Va. - Wilber H. Lude, 85, of Elm Avenue died Sunday (July 28, 2002) at the Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center in Wheeling, W. Va.
He was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Antioch, to Clarence C.[Chris] and Clara E. [Elizabeth] Hoff Lude. He was retired from the former Allied Chemical Corp. He was a member of McMechen Church of Christ, served on the Moundsville Council and was a former mayor of Moundsville. [Note: His mother's name was Clara, not Clare]
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys L. Jackson Lude of Moundsville; two sons, Don Lude and his wife, Suzy, of Indiana and Roger Lude and his wife, Shirley, of Syracuse, Ohio; four daughters, Garnet Blake and her husband, Lonnie, of New Martinsville, W. Va., Connie Martin and her husband, Charles, of Moundsville, Cathy Ramsey and her husband, Martin, of Powhatan Point and Sandra Ferrie and her husband, Albert, of Cleveland; two sisters, Florence Lallathin and her husband, Ralph, of Antioch and N. Ruth Sampson of Bethleham, W. Va.; one brother, Clarence P. Lude of Woodsfield; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, with Evangelist Bill Carroll officiating. Burial is in West Union Cemetery near Sardis. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
