Robert H. Dawson Robert Hollis Dawson, age 89 years, a longtime resident of Centralia and retired car salesman, died Nov. 14, 2004 at Columbia Manor Care Center. He was born Oct. 2, 1915 in Centralia, the son of Elmer Hardin and Mary Jane Crump Dawson. On May 10, 1942, he was married in Centralia to Lorine Frances Gross and she preceded him in death June 26, 1984. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Hardin Dawson, Columbia and Charles Francis Dawson and his wife, Carolyn, Centralia; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lois Dinwiddie, Hazel Wilcox and Ruth Trussell; and a grandson, Garrett Dawson in 1974. Mr. Dawson was a member of the First Christian Church, Centralia. He attended Centralia High School, however, the family moved to the farm near Holliday and he attended there his senior year. During World War II he worked in Kansas City at a defense plant over 30 years. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Centralia. Officiating will be the Rev. Fred Dorisse, Pastor, First Christian Church, Centralia. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church, Centralia. Pallbearers will be Harlan Hackett, Dan Dinwiddie, Ed Thomas, Ed Hamilton, Carl Henderson and Lester Myers.
